2012

My 2012 Prediction

I’ve been talking a bit on this website about different 2012 predictions and how this date could change our lives. Now it’s time that I tell you my own prophecy as to what is really going to happen, and what 2012 means for us all.

Bear in mind that this is all speculation. I’m not a trained psychic, and those who proclaim themselves to be experts on 2012, such as John Major Jenkins or Daniel Pinchbeck, still admit that they don’t know exactly what will happen on this date.

What I Think Will Happen On 2012

So what do I think will happen? It’s simple enough:

December 21, 2012 will arrive. People will eagerly awake the arrival of Planet X, the shifting of the poles, or a massive worldwide expansion of consciousness. As 11:11 draws closer, even the sceptics will start to get a little nervous. But the day will go on, no massive event will happen, and people will wake up on December 22 with no real change in their lives.

I don’t think anything noticeable will happen on 2012. However…

Is Planet X Real? No, Why Are We Still Talking About it?

I talked yesterday about edge researchers losing track of real evidence and believing in falsities. When it comes to investigating something like 2012, it’s hard to sort the garbage from the gold. One of the biggest fabrications comes in the form of Planet X, aka Nibiru, an asteroid or brown dwarf star five times the size of Earth that will hit on December 21, 2012.

Forgetting About Evidence

There are many internet forums discussing the nature of Planet X, but absolutely no real evidence available. This leads us to the question: Why do people still believe it?

The following can be guaranteed as true:

  • No serious scientist has claimed that Planet X is real
  • Many scientists claim that Planet X is a complete hoax
  • Mayan predictions may indicate a massive event in 2012, but they do not predict the end of the world.
  • Mayan descendants have stated the idea of 2012 being doomsday is ludicrous. They predict an age of enlightenment, not total destruction.

So both mainstream scientists and Mayan researchers say Planet X is a lie. Yet so many people have jumped on the Planet X bandwagon.

There is something strange that happens to allow people to believe in something like Planet X, and many other bizarre conspiracy theories. And yet, it remains a popular topic of discussion.

Proof that 2012 is Happening NOW

While no one is certain what actual events will occur in 2012 (if any) there is a general consensus that it will involve a shift in consciousness. So what do we mean when we say this? Essentially, it’s about a change in the way we see the world, the way we perceive reality. So let’s forget about the possible physical effects of 2012, which could be argued to be revealing themselves in global warming and increased levels of natural disasters, and look at the psychic impacts that have begun to take hold.

Is 2012 happening now?

Let’s look at the evidence. Consider how our outlook in life, our consciousness, has changed over the last twenty or so years:

  • The rise of the Internet: With the internet, you can now find the news you want, listen to the music you want, watch the movies you want and read the books you want. This in turn has caused…
  • The development of niches: Consider the popularity of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones or Elvis Presley. Can you imagine a group or musician having that kind of success today? It’s impossible to get that many people to like one thing. Now if you like rock music, you might like metal or hardcore or punk. If you just like metal, you might only like thrash metal or speed metal, and on and on.
  • Increased polarization of communities: Thanks to the media, we’re finding more and more reasons why we’re different from other people. The rich hate the poor, the whites hate the blacks, the Jews hate the Muslims and neighbours hate each other. The idea of something like a town hall meeting, or an idea of a coherent community in a local area seems quaint and almost laughable. The closest idea of community comes only from the internet, and even then it’s a pale mimic of what actual cultural interaction should be.

What 2012 Predictions Miss: It’s Happening Now

There are plenty of predictions out there about what will happen in 2012, some more legitimate than others. Forget about Nibiru and the Planet X predictions, we’re not going to see the complete destruction of our world. And personally, I doubt there will be a single massive event that occurs at the exact time of 11:11 AM, December 21 2012. Instead, these predictions point to an era of great change, with one phase of life ending and another beginning.

According to the Mayans, the era that ends in 2012 has been dominant for the past five thousand, one hundred and twenty five years. One thing we can be assured of is that human life existed before this cycle began, so the chances that life will continue afterwards are pretty good. So don’t worry about 2012 end of the world predictions, they make for profitable Hollywood movies but they aren’t anywhere near reality.

So there is an awareness that a change will be taking place, but unfortunately, we can only make general predictions about the form this change will be in. No one knows for sure what will happen at this date, and you shouldn’t trust anyone who says they do.

One very simple way to predict what could happen in the future is by looking at the way we live today. Is there anything about the way we currently live that is unsustainable? What do we do that can’t last? The answer to this is simple enough: Pretty much everything.
